2. Hosting and server logs

This website is hosted on servers operated by Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany (server location: Falkenstein, Germany). When you access the site, the server automatically processes information sent by your browser: IP address, date and time of access, page requested, amount of data transferred, browser type and version, operating system and the referring page.

This data is technically necessary to deliver the website and serves the security and stability of the system. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in operating the site securely). Log files are deleted after 14 days at the latest unless retention is required for security reasons.

3. Contact form and inquiries by email or phone

When you send us an inquiry via the contact form, we process the data you enter (subject, name, email address, optional phone number, requested room, travel dates, number of guests and your message) solely to handle and answer your inquiry. You receive an automatic acknowledgement at the email address you provide.

Messages are delivered to our mailbox by email via the provider ByteServ. They are not stored in a database on the web server.

The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR where your inquiry aims at concluding a contract (for example a room or table reservation or a celebration), otherwise Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in answering inquiries). We delete the data once it is no longer needed to handle the inquiry and no statutory retention obligations apply.

4. Spam protection (ALTCHA)

To protect the contact form against automated submissions we use ALTCHA. Your browser solves a small computational puzzle that is issued and verified by our own server. No data is sent to third parties, no cookies are set and no user behaviour is analysed. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in preventing abuse).

5. Audience measurement with Umami

We use the open-source software Umami to understand how our website is used. Umami is run by HECKEL Digital Services, Mika Heckel, Leuchterstr. 191, 51069 Köln, Germany, on servers operated by Hetzner Online GmbH and does not use cookies. No personal profiles are created; the IP address is not stored but only used to derive an anonymous identifier that changes daily. Data collected includes pages viewed, referrer, browser type, device type and approximate region.

The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in analysing and improving our offering). Since no information is stored on or read from your device, no consent under § 25 TDDDG is required.

6. External links

Our website contains links to Instagram, Facebook, Tripadvisor and Google Maps. No data is transferred to these providers when you load our site; you only leave our site when you click a link. The privacy policies of the respective providers apply there.

7. Fonts

The fonts used are served from our own server. No connection is made to Google Fonts or other font providers.
